Data science is one of the most desired set of skills in the modern technology-driven economy. Recent estimates from the Emerging Jobs Report for 2020, based on LinkedIn data, shows that the role of Data Scientist has been one of the most in demand professions for the past three years running.
Whether it is a private start-up company, a non-profit research center, or a publicly-traded multinational corporation, all entities in our modern society need trained data scientists to understand, interpret and predict based on vast quantities of data from a variety of sources.
Data Scientist was the #1 ranked job for 2019
It isn’t just an in demand job either. An analysis of earnings data and job-related factors by Glassdoor showed that Data Scientist ranked #1 among all jobs in the U.S. in 2019 based on salary and job satisfaction. If that isn’t motivation to consider growing your data science skills, we don’t know what is!
Another great feature of data science and statistical data analytics is the potential to work remotely, enhancing flexibility to work from home or on-the-go on from virtually anywhere in the world.
Of course, with the potential for remote work and high demand for jobs comes similar demand for learning data science and developing skills in this exciting career path. There are numerous online and offline resources available to help you develop skills in data science software packages and to begin to master fundamental statistics concepts.
Unfortunately, many of the resources our there are either: 1) unnecessarily expensive or 2) excessively complicated or difficult to understand. It doesn’t have to be this way!
